COLLABORATIVE CHRISTIAN CARDS “POKER RUN” FUNDRAISER ANNOUNCED BY LOCAL AREA NONPROFITS

Several local nonprofits are teaming up to raise funds through an exciting new event. Collaborative Christian Cards will be a play on a traditional “Poker Run” fundraiser, but open to all ages. The event will take place on Saturday, July 16 at various locations around the area.

ATLAS of Sioux Center, Inspiration Hills, Justice For All Ministry, The Oaklyn Foundation, and Siouxland Habitat for Humanity have been working for a while on a way to help spread the word about the unique impact they each have. Each organization has a different mission, but all are united in their Christian foundation.

Participants in Collaborative Christian Cards will begin the afternoon at 1PM and can start at any location on the path. Registrants will receive their Information Packet and will proceed to visit each of the remaining locations. Each stop will be hosted by one of the nonprofits and participants will have the opportunity to draw a card while they learn more about that nonprofit. The Run will wrap up at 5PM when all participants are invited to meet at the Children’s Park Shelter in Sioux Center for a free-will donation meal from the Sioux County Pork Producers, a chance to buy a new card, and prizes for the best and worst hands!

Registration is open online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/collaborative-christian-cards-tickets-260264607447

The cost per person is $50. Additional Poker Hands can be purchased for $50.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will be evenly split between the participating nonprofits.

“I am excited to show the community how nonprofits can come together to make a difference,” said Anne Holmes, Executive Director of Siouxland Habitat for Humanity. “We all truly care about helping people and each does it in a different, but equally important, way. By hosting an event like this together, we will all be able to reach new people and share support”.
